As the e-Learning Director for Human Kinetics, I managed the e-Learning Unit and the production of over 60 e-learning courses and hundreds of ancillary products including:

  • instructor resources
    • presentation packages,
    • image banks,
    • podcasts,
    • video,
    • SCORM-conformant test banks
  • and student resources
    • courseware,
    • online study guides,
    • flash cards

I worked together with Department managers to develop cost/sales estimates for acquisition of new projects and prioritization of development.  I managed all stages of project design and development including staffing resources, instructional design, subject-matter expert relations, content acquisition, media acquisition (audio/video/art/photo), programming and analysis, database integration, and publishing

I also provided technical solutions to streamline production of courses utilizing Lectora, Articulate, and Adobe Presenter which resulted in cost savings of $185,000 per year.

“Sherry has the ability to not only wear many hats on any given project, but to wear them well. Her skills as a project manager, programmer, and web developer contributed greatly to our team’s success at Human Kinetics. She played a vital role in analyzing options for our e-learning authoring tool and determining which tool to adopt. On this and other projects she skillfully gathered feedback from a variety of product developers and stakeholders and then quickly and decisively recommended a solution. Sherry is that rare breed of professional who possesses technical and programming expertise equaled by an ability to communicate clearly and effectively with co-developers, designers, writers, and management.

Sherry treated those who reported to her well. She took interest in them and was always willing to represent their interests fairly. One of the things that I admire most about Sherry is her commitment to lifelong learning and self-improvement. She is constantly honing the skills she has developed and seeking opportunities to acquire new skills and expertise.”
